Steps of Grace

Stone Dam’s liturgical dance team—or the vision of it—began in 2006. The Youth had just returned from Resurrection 2006 and saw a dance team perform that inspired them to try this in their program the following Sunday.

With the blessing of the worship committee, the group began choreographing dances for worship. They named themselves Steps of Grace in memory of Mrs. Grace Johnson—a long standing member of the church who dearly loved the Lord.

They were selected as the Johnson City District’s talent offering and performed at Resurrection 2008. 7140 people were in the audience that day and the prayers of an entire church and community were with them.

The group has been invited to participate in the Opening Worship Combined Dance Choir at 2008 General Conference of the United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. They have accepted the invitation and will be performing on April 23, 2008.
